Alosa Health partners with state governments, federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, and foundations to develop academic detailing programs, trainings, and materials.

Atrius Health

Using our module on responsible opioid prescribing, Alosa Health developed a tailored educational program on this topic for the clinical pharmacists at the Atrius healthcare system in Massachusetts.  

Centre for Effective Practice (CEP)

Alosa Health provided training on the concepts of academic detailing and consultative services to CEP to launch a new academic detailing program in the province of Ontario.

HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD and TB Administration (HAHSTA)

In partnership with HAHSTA, in Washington, DC, Alosa Health developed trainings related to Hepatitis C screening and Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT). Alosa Health manages and trains a clinical educator in the District and will be collaborating on the development of materials about HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).

Hospital Sisters Health System

Focusing on interventions relating to the care of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Alosa Health provided content training on the evidence-based management of COPD and academic detailing training to medical home staff.

Maine Independent Clinical Information Service (MICIS)

Maine participates in clinical content trainings and uses clinical modules developed by the Alosa Health team within their own academic detailing program.

Massachusetts Department of Public Health

Our collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health focuses on key programs to improve patient safety, such as reducing antipsychotic prescribing in nursing homes and the responsible prescribing of opioids. Alosa Health provides a complete program, developing the clinical content for the programs as well as training and managing the clinical educators. 

Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly (PACE)

Our longest-running program, Alosa Health trains and manages a team of clinical educators that are on the ground across the state of Pennsylvania. Alosa Health collaborates with PACE to annually develop modules on three clinical topics relating to care of the elderly and provides content training and academic detailing skill-building for the clinical educators.

Shelby County Health Department

To reduce the spread of HIV in Shelby County, Tennessee, Alosa Health will develop education on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) as well as training and managing a clinical educator to visit with primary care practices to expand knowledge of and access to PrEP services.

Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living

In collaboration with the Vermont Health Care Association, Alosa Health participated in an intervention to reduce antipsychotic prescribing in nursing homes through academic detailing, the OASIS program and Music and Memory.  

Vermont Health Care Association (VHCA)

The Vermont Health Care Association contracted with Alosa Health on a three pronged an intervention to reduce antipsychotic prescribing in nursing homes through academic detailing, the OASIS program and Music and Memory.  

Veterans Affairs Academic Detailing Service

VA pharmacists participate in an Alosa Health-led training that provides background on academic detailing methods and application. Trainings are tailored to the VA system and its unique needs. Additional consultation has been provided to design and develop clinical modules on behalf of the VA Academic Detailing Service.
